SRI LANKAN STUDENTS PLACED SECOND IN THE SEARCC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS' SOFTWARE COMPETITION IN INDIA

We are pleased to announce that Sri Lanka Team ‘A’ secured the second place in the SEARCC International Schools' Software Competition which was held in Chennai India from 21st to 24th October 2010. The winning team consisted of S C P Weerasinghe of Royal College Colombo, P G M Pallewatte of Nalanda College Colombo and H G Udugahapattuwa of Royal College Colombo. This International Competition was organized by South East Asian Computer Confederation (SEARCC) and hosted by the Computer Society of India. Seven teams representing the countries Australia, New Zealand, India, Taiwan and Sri Lanka participated in this competition.

The Computer Society of Sri Lanka made arrangements to send 2 teams for this competition this year. These teams were selected from the winners of National Schools’ Software Competition which is an annual event conducted by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka.
